The play book could not be any clearer — Tell them what they want to hear then ignore what they were told and act on your own agenda. Your list of politicians who told us they wanted to do away with gerrymandering is long and I dare say notable. But just like a President who places his hand on the Bible and swears to uphold the laws of the nation and then OPENS the southern border none of this has any meaning to these politicians. There words ring hollow to those who actually listen to them and then evaluate them against their actions. Make no mistake the Republicans are just as culpable as the Democrats its political warfare and in Maryland the Democrats are not about to yield the battlefield – after all this is who the people elected.
