FAQs – For Potential Members

  • When is your next meeting and are guests welcome? We hold general membership meetings every other month on the second Saturday, please visit our calendar for meeting dates and times. www.marylandtenthcavalry.org/2020-calendar/ Guests are welcome.
  • How can I join the club? To join, attend a regular membership meeting and obtain a membership application from one of our Trustees. In order for your application to be accepted, you must show current documentation that you have successfully passed a background check and can legally possess a firearm in Maryland. A Maryland Handgun Qualification License, for example, would satisfy this requirement.
  • I need to complete a range orientation (walk-through), when is the next one? Range Orientations are typically conducted by our Trustees for prospective members after membership meetings. For availability of Trustees, email trustees@marylandtenthcavalry.org
  • What classes do you offer? We are privileged to have many of our members who are certified firearms instructors in various disciplines and the club generally will host public events, such as our Annual Sisters’ Shoot, which includes classroom training. While we are always engaged in learning from one another, the club itself does not provide general classes; however, a number of members certified as instructors do. Some classes are highlighted on our calendar and many classes are offered via theiotagroup.com .
  • Do I have to be a member to attend an event? You do not have to be a member to attend our club-sponsored events that are specifically open to the public, such as our Annual Sisters’ Shoot.
  • Where are the club meetings? We meet in Memorial Hall at the Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore.

FAQs – For Current Members

  • Can I renew my membership online? Contact secretary@marylandtenthcavalry.org so we can verify your membership status and you may be able to renew via PayPal. Please email the Secretary for the current membership fee. However, membership cards must be picked up in person during our regular membership meetings or prior to our executive board meetings (12:30-1pm on days the Executive Board is meeting).
  • With the membership meetings every other month, can I still renew or update my membership information on the Executive Board meeting Saturdays? Yes; however, we ask that you do so prior to the meeting by coming by between 12:30-1pm.
  • How can I be added to the group email listservs whatsnew and goingtorange? Email vicepresident@marylandtenthcavalry.org and ask to be added to either or both lists. Please provide the email from which you will be sending to the lists and your full name so we can verify your membership.
  • I don’t get any of the club emails. Why? First, please check your spam folders. Gmail, for example, will sometimes send club emails to their “Promotions” tab. If you are not receiving emails, contact secretary@marylandtenthcavalry.org who will update your membership information and inform the email list manager.
  • I’m a member in good standing and I have an idea for a club event but not sure what to do. Attend an executive board meeting (see calendar) and discuss your idea with the Executive Board. Please come prepared to discuss your idea and who would be responsible for planning and managing the event
  • I have sent a request to join the Facebook group, but have not gotten approved. You must answer the questions required to join the Facebook group and we must verify your membership. If you fail to answer the questions, you will not be approved to join the Facebook group. Email vicepresident@marylandtenthcavalry.org for problems or questions.
